We were welcomed by Managing Editor/Visuals and New Initiatives, Jeanne Meyer (top ), who explained the format of the meeting and distributed copies of the dayıs KC Star (news) Budget for the next day. Shortly before 5 p.m. the meeting concluded, but Meyer and several of the Starıs key personnel remained to participate in a roundtable discussion with the participants. The Star personnel were Greg Farmer, assistant managing editor/page one; Monty Davis , night photo editor; Chris Ochsner, weekend picture editor; and Jody Cox, news and sports producer for KansasCity.com.
Following this discussion, Meyer and her colleagues gave the participants the Starıs Verification Checklist, Guidelines for Attributing Stories, and the newspaperıs Code of Ethics.
